Gianluca’s Exclusive Selection to Dream with Every Sip
Change pace: we’re looking for freshness, agility, mineral notes, and savory flavor that immediately moves our minds (and palates) to the seaside.
This year, I’ve worked on a selection that is a true “taste map” that goes trough Italy from north to south, island after island. I’ve personally selected three labels that I consider the season’s must-haves: wines that tell stories of heroic viticulture, volcanic soils, and sea breezes. These are bottles that, I guarantee, will make your seafood lunches or sunsets on the terrace unforgettable.
Here are the 3 white wines chosen for you.

1. “Alberelli di Giodo” Carricante Terre Siciliane IGT
From the expert hands of winemaker Carlo Ferrini, a rare gem is born: Alberelli di Giodo. This wine is the purest and most vibrant expression of Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, straight from the beating heart of Sicily.
What makes this wine unique? Its origin. We’re talking about vineyards located over 600 meters above sea level: a temperature range that gives the wine an elegant structure, crisp fruit, and a sharp freshness, perfectly balanced by the minerality emanating from Etna’s black volcanic pumice soil. It’s a white that you will never get tired of, perfect for those seeking depth. Imagine it in the glass: brilliant, complex, with hints of citrus and flint. It’s the ideal companion for seafood crudités or grilled swordfish.

2. “Furore Bianco“ Costa d’Amalfi DOC – Marisa Cuomo
If I had to describe “heroic viticulture” in a single sip, this would be it. Marisa Cuomo’s Furore Bianco is much more than a wine: it is the symbol of the Amalfi Coast. The vines, clinging to the rock overlooking the sea, lend an unforgettable character.
This traditional blend of Falanghina (the historic “Biancazita”) and Biancolella is aged for four months in stainless steel to preserve the integrity of the fruit. On the nose, it’s a concentration of sun, Mediterranean scrub, and saltiness. On the palate, it’s an explosion of flavor. It’s the wine that transforms a simple dinner into a vacation.
Try it with spaghetti with clams or fried mixed seafood: you’ll almost hear the sound of the waves.

3. Arembapampane Elba Vermentino DOC – Arrighi
We conclude our journey to Elba Island with Arembapampane di Arrighi. Here, the Vermentino changes face and takes on the local name of “Riminese.” This is a version I would call “pure terroir”: the sloping vineyards are constantly influenced by the sea, resulting in iodine, citrus notes, and a touch of aromatic herbs typical of Elba’s scrubland.
It’s a wine with a strong Mediterranean character, straightforward and convivial. Arembapampane doesn’t seek artifice, it seeks harmony. It’s ideal with the most authentic seafood cuisine, such as stuffed squid or the fish soups typical of Elba. If you want to impress your guests with a wine that tastes like an authentic vacation, this is the bottle you need.
A toast to summer!
