Some hints about the Chianti Classico
The brand that has always distinguished the bottles of Chianti Classico is the Black Rooster, the historic symbol of the ancient Military League of Chianti, reproduced among other things by the painter Giorgio Vasari on the ceiling of the Salone dei Cinquecento, in the Florentine Palazzo Vecchio. Chianti Classico is produced with Sangiovese grapes for at least 80% (but also used alone). Other vines, exclusively red berried, can contribute to the Chianti Classico blend, starting from native ones, such as Canaiolo Nero and Colorino, but also from the main international vines, read Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
