The "VINO AL VINO" wine-shop
was founded in 1985 from an idea of Vasma Franci daughter of Marino and mother of Franco. His father Marino lived with his peasant family at Greppo dei Biondi - Santi, knowing as a child, at the beginning of the last century, also Ferruccio Biondi-Santi inventor of Brunello di Montalcino.
The desire to sell wine derives from this bond with the Montalcino land and its products that has been handed down from one generation to the next in the Franci family. So Vasma decided to do it together with her husband Federico Pazzaglia in the family home, in the rooms on the ground floor with the entrances from Via della Libertà and Via Ricasoli.
The wine shop is well stocked with Brunello
of the most famous wineries in the Montalcino area and of all vintages, even the oldest. Its peculiarity is represented by the careful selection of wines from small producers, a few thousand bottles, with particular attention to the uniqueness of the product.
Since 2015 the wine shop has been taken over by Gianluca Turchi , who with his passion and enthusiasm, has added to the already present great labels of Montalcino, other highly selected oenological excellences and not only, coming from all over the territory Italian, also giving space to culture and art.
After years of experience in the field, both oenological and food, Gianluca decided to dive into this adventure he had always dreamed of.

I was born in Siena in 1975, only because there was no hospital in Buonconvento, the town where I grew up. Never ever would I have thought of spending the rest of my life in Montalcino, but after all, what better place to feed one of my greatest passions, that for wine. The first is definitely football, but from a certain age onwards… wine is better !!!
I approached this boundless world, ever since I was a child, when my grandfather made me step on grapes with my feet ... My first job was at an important Ilcinese winery, where I was able to learn about the vine, and slowly also the secrets of the cellar. After a few years spent in the cellar, I decided to totally change my job to discover the secrets of artisan pastry (in our life, sooner or later we all have a particular period.), But the call of wine was too strong, and I went back to my origins until to March 2015, when I was presented with the opportunity to take over one of Montalcino's historic wine bars, the “Vino al Vino” wine shop, founded in 1985 by Wasma Franci and her husband Federico Pazzaglia.
