Monteverro IGT Toscana Chardonnay (2016)
Monteverro Chardonnay expresses the original characteristics of the Borgona vine, enriched and made unique by the sea breeze and the pedoclimatic environment of Tuscany. The result is a wine that has its own elegant and silky texture, freshness and refinement reminiscent of the illustrious models from beyond the Alps.
Grapes : 100% Chardonnay
Vinification : each parcel is vinified separately with whole cluster pressing, natural fermentation and aging on fine lees with 100% dropping batonnage.
Aging : 14 months in French oak barrels for 50% of the production with 40% of new wood. The remaining 50% in an egg-shaped concrete tank.
Bottling : No clarification, light filtration
Tasting Notes : a beautiful bright gold color to the nose is complex, rich in aromas of pear, apricot, orange blossom, brioche, granite and star anise. When tasted, it presents a fresh and decisive attack on notes of lemon, grapefruit, white flowers and peach. Good minerality, supported by a precise structure.
