Marchesi Antinori “Pian delle Vigne” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG (2017)

Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
Vinification: the grapes were destemmed and softly pressed before being transferred to stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation took place. Maceration lasted an average of twelve days at a temperature of 28°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was transferred to oak barrels ranging in size from 30 to 80 Hl where it began its maturation process in wood. After two years, Pian delle Vigne left the big barrel to move towards the long aging in the bottle.
Tasting notes: of an intense ruby red color, the nose is complex with notes of ripe red fruit, plum, date, herbaceous and floral notes of violet accompanied by spicy hints of ginger, chilli pepper and cocoa . On the palate it is fresh, sapid, soft with a good balance, harmonious and very persistent with notes of licorice and cocoa.
Pairings: perfect with land-based first courses, roasted and grilled meat, game, aged cheeses.
