Principiano Barolo DOCG (2015)
Ferdinando Principiano is an authentic, passionate and courageous winemaker, in love with his land, the Langhe, and guided in his work by an uncommon poetic vein. He took over the reins of the family winery in 1993, full of enthusiasm and fresh from his diploma in enology, ready to conquer international markets; in 2003 it converts to a production philosophy based on authenticity and tradition and radically changes course: it sells the barriques and buys large Slavonian oak barrels, eliminates all synthetic products, abandons the use of sulfur dioxide.
Grapes: Nebbiolo 100%
Vinification: Ferdinando Principiano still presses the grapes with his feet and keeps the stalks in the must, uses only indigenous yeasts and performs manual pumping over. Aging in oak barrels.
The production of the Principiano winery is distinguished by a proudly artisan temper and by a personal style. Unmissable are the great interpretations of Barolo, with an engaging and energetic character, together with the rest of the range, a wide and varied expression of the native Piedmontese vines. They are wines that come from the hands and passion of those who produce them, wines that originate from the centuries-old tradition of the Langhe.o.
Tasting notes: Wine with an engaging and energetic character, a wide and varied expression of the Piedmontese indigenous grape varieties.
Pairings: red meats in general, grilled fish and white meats, hard or aged cheeses, chocolate.
Format: 750 ml
