Vignai da Duline Malvasia Istriana “Chioma Integrale” (2019)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Starting from north-east Italy, directly from Friuli Venezia Gilia, here is the Malvasia “Chioma Integrale” 2019 Vignai di Duline. The name “Chioma Integrale” derives from the technique of not topping the plant in the vineyard to allow it to self-regulate by finding its perfect balance in each vintage, is obtained from pure Istrian Malvasia grapes. The grapes, harvested manually, begin the alcoholic fermentation which takes place, as for the malolactic, in French oak barrels, using only indigenous yeasts. Then the wine is poured into barrique and oak barrels for aging about 8 months. Moving on to the tasting notes, intense aromas of fresh fruit, lime and citrus, vegetal notes and aromatic herbs appear on the nose. Fresh and with a nice flavor, we recommend combining it with fish dishes, fresh cheeses and vegetables.
The Vignai da Duline winery was founded in 1997, when Lorenzo Mocchiuti and Federica Magrini inherited the old vineyards of their relatives, in the Eastern Hills, in Villanova, San Giovanni al Natistone. Respect for the land, environmental protection and letting nature continue to express itself without human intervention, these are the cornerstones of the company’s organic management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Castel Juval Weissburgunder – Pinot Bianco (2019)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Moving further west in South Tyrol, we present the wines of the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner, Castel Juval, Unterortl. Weissburgunder<\/em>, produced with 100% Pinot Bianco<\/em> grapes, ferments in stainless steel containers and in acacia barrels and rests until just before bottling and refining it on the lees. Straw yellow in color, it is characterized by a fresh and varied fragrance of apples, pear and hints of green lemon.The flavor is mineral and persistent. We recommend it in combination with asparagus, white meats and fish dishes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Carlo Hauner IGT Salina (2018)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Going down to southern Italy, to the Aeolian Islands of Sicily to taste Carlo Hauner’s Salina IGT. Inzolia<\/em>, Catarratto <\/em>and Grillo <\/em>grapes, harvested in the first half of September, they quick cooling them, light skin contact, immediate de-vatting at controlled low-temperature fermentation. It ages in stainless steel vats and small oak barrels with a refinement of 6 months in bottle. Note of delicate edible sea vegetables combined with fruity hints of ripe medlars, citrus blossoms and a buttery cloud of vanilla wafts over the wine. Ideal to be paired with spaghetti and sea urchins or pasta, wild fennel and fresh sardines.
Carlo Hauner, from Brescia who transplanted himself to the Aeolian islands, exhibited, not yet 20 years old, at the Biennale di Venezia, obtaining relevant success in the international field as designer. as the creator of the agricultural firm that carries his name.
