Produced only in the best years and exclusively with grapes from the Pianrosso vineyards, it is the wine that has always represented the terroir and the name of the company in an authoritative way. The grapes for the Riserva type are also selected from these vineyards.
Vineyards: 11.69 hectares boast the term “Pianrosso”, located in medium-textured soils of Eocene origin between 240 and 360 meters above sea level
Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese
Vinification: In stainless steel containers and vitrified cement tanks at a controlled temperature by means of cooling jackets and immersion plates. This is followed by aging in Slavonian oak barrels from 7.5 to 62 hl for about 3 years and bottle aging for more than 8 months.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color, with intense and complex aromas. Sensations of ripe red berry fruit are completed with various spicy notes; the taste is warm, harmonious with pronounced tannins; a full-bodied wine with a long taste-olfactory persistence that can still evolve with a long aging in the bottle.
Pairing: Ideal with roasted or stewed game and with first courses with seasoning based on the same meats. Also excellent with aged cheeses.
