The La Casuccia vineyard occupies an area of 12.58 hectares: about 6 ha planted in 1978 while the rest replanted in 2007 at a density of 5300 plants / ha. The altitude is between 480 and 526 meters above sea level. of the vineyards of Adine. The soil is fairly uniform throughout the area, with a dominant clayey-limestone. The training systems are the vertical espalier with simple Guyot cut in 8.04 ha and the Open Lira in 4.54 ha. The vineyard is divided into 17 plots planted with the traditional varieties provided for by the production regulations. The presence of the Merlot variety should be noted on a parcel. This wine is produced only in the very large “millesimes” in limited quantities. The first edition was bottled in 1985.
Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color, complex that strikes for the intensity and breadth of spiciness that combines with hints of ripe red fruit. The palate is enveloped in the balance of elegant and powerful tannins. Very long finish that returns towards softness.
