Banfi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG “Poggio alle Mura” (2018) Jéroboam 3 lt.
A Brunello that comes from the company’s vineyards which zoning studies, begun in 1980, have identified as the most suitable for Sangiovese.
Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
Vinification: controlled temperature fermentation (25-30°) in combined steel and Horizon French oak vats. Aged at 40% in 60 and 90 hl French oak barrels. and 60% in. 350 l French oak barrique for 2 years.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red in colour, the nose expresses fruity aromas of blackberry and plum jam with hints of coffee, pipe tobacco and a spicy note on the finish. In the mouth it is fresh with a robust body and a soft and ripe tannic texture.
Pairings: long-aging wine, the best gastronomic pairing is with first and second courses of land, such as pasta with meat sauce, risotto with meat and with very structured and composite dishes such as second courses of meat red meats, tasty game or first and second courses with mushrooms or truffles. Perfect with international cuisine dishes based on meat or sauces, it pairs equally well with mature cheeses (tome and Tuscan pecorino) and cured meats. Excellent as a meditation wine.
