Altesino Brunello di Montalcino DOCG “Montosoli” (2016)
The driving force that this company has given to Brunello is also revealed by the introduction of the concept of Cru: Montosoli is in fact a vineyard of about 5 hectares in the north east of Montalcino at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters, whose grapes were vinified separately for the first time with the 1975 harvest. The composition of the soil (marly limestone and siliceous limestone referable to Alberese with lithoid components of the same period), the happy exposure and the particular microclimate contribute to the ripening of grapes that produce a wine of extreme complexity and elegance. Altesino for its Cru Montosoli obtained an important international recognition when Wine Spectator defined it as the second most representative vineyard of the Italian reality.
Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
Tasting notes: Brunello Montosoli shows an intense ruby red color that fades into garnet with aging.
